Does anybody know who manufactured the port lights that were in the front berth, bathroom, kitchen area and by the dining table in the Carver 3807's? One of my screens went missing during winter storage and I cannot seem to find a name anywhere on them.

Thanks and best regards...

I believe they were Bomar on that boat. That was the eera that Carver started to upscale the items purchased for their yachts. You can go to Bomar's website and look up screens for them. You'll need to measure the porthole so you can get the correct size screen.

bomar gray series if they're like my 3607's . And they still make all the parts !

They're not the Gray series portlights, but are Bomar.

You guys are the best. Thank you SO much for your help!

Enjoy the water this weekend!

You are correct on that, but the 3807 uses a different series of Bomar porthole. An "upscale" one...not all plastic

As long as we're talkikng port lights or windows, we just took delivery of our 1883 Carver 3207. Today was launch day, what a great time. Our to-do list is a million miles long but among other things, six of the seven port lights are cracked or broken-- just the acrylic windows with the brackets for the dogs, We have all the screens, the dogs and screw-down knobs are all fine, but the acrylic plastic windows are all cracked to pieces. I email Bomar based on the previous postings on this thread, no response yet. I've Googled like crazy, no luck there either. I wonder if Bomar handled the port windows on the 1983, 3207's too, or was that just the 3807's? Thanks.

Yours are the "Gray" style portholes. You can go to Bomar's website and look up and order parts for them. You'll need to know the size of the ports. you can get clear or smoked lenses. Their website is "pompanette dot com" as they are owned by Pompanette out of Florida

If you check out my last email with the pompanette web address it will lead you to the port lights for the Carver 3207. I too emailed them last week and NO ANSWER!

Try calling Pompanette. They've always answered the phone when we've called. They will sell retail as well as through dealers (which we are).

Thanks very much for all the information. I thought we had at least one intact portlight lens over the galley, but when I opened the dogs this weekend, it fell to pieces and clattered into the sink. Sheesh. After measuring carefully and checking Bomar/Pompanette's site, I believe that 1983 Carver 3207 has eight Bomar portlights part number G715-AD17, and the replacement lens is G907-45. I hope I'm right on those numbers before I order a pile of them. $76 each (for just the lens) according to Bomar's site. That's going to be $700 for all eight of them, with shipping. I don't suppose anybody has a cheaper source? I know in boat dollars $700 is chump change, but still... I googled, didn't find a better price or source.

Thanks again for all the help.

Karl

Well, next installment of the story. Bomar/Pompanette has them on their website for $79, not $76 as I said before. I called Bomar, they were not very helpful. They would not confirm that the part number I had was actually used on the old Carver 3207's. Okay fine, they're not a boat museum I suppose, I understand (I guess). So I called Carver. Despite all the bankruptcy turmoil and drama last year, they were very nice, talked to a knowledgeable guy who confirmed the part number. I called West Marine and a few other big marine parts suppliers. No help and no better prices until I called Defender Marine in Waterford, CT. $69 each. I ordered just two for now to make certain they still fit exactly, and then I'll order the other six once I know for sure.
