Greetings. I am looking to dock my Regal 322 Commodore somewhere in the Clearwater, Tampa Bay or St Pete area. I live in Orlando and do not know too much about the area. Anyone have any recommendations on reasonably priced marinas with dry storage? It would be nice if the place was somewhat social and not like a strictly commercial ship yard (I have 2 small kids too) but I am not looking for a country club, atmosphere or prices. Thanks.

I too make the trek from the Orlando area because we enjoy SW FL boating so much (east coast would be much closer). We keep our 300 Dancer in Sarasota (outside rack) and I can offer some options a bit south of where you are looking if interested (Bradenton, Manatee River, Sarasota, etc.).

Good luck.

Sure I am interested in that area. My only concern really was not wanting too make it a chore too drive too the boat. I certainly concur that the east coast would be easier but I just think we will enjoy the Gulf coast so much more.

What about nautico on the north side of the skyway bridge

Anybody tried them

I'm at Homeport in Palm Harbor. Rich is the dock master, (727-784-1443). Tell him I sent you.

Nautico closed out and was sold to Loggerhead Marina. I used to keep my boats at Huber Yacht Harbor (pre-nautico). It's a very protected harbor and minutes to Tampa Bay and the gulf. They are rated for a Cat 4 hurricane. One of my old slipmates from Gulfport moved over there recently and when notifying his insurance company (Boat US) they knocked $300 off his premium. Their hi & dry is nice, they have a pool and clubhouse. Competitive rates for wet slips, not sure what they charge for dry storage. I would have moved there if my insurance company would have reduced the premium, but they wouldn't (State Farm)and the extra $60 a month more than my current slip just didn't seem worthy with the added expense of gas this year.

Thanks for the input. This weekend I am going too take a drive over and take a look at some of these places.

St. Pete municipal marina has open slips and the best location land side on FL west coast. I 375 gets to within a few blocks.
