Yes fan blower and water intake circulation.

Hi Guys,
This has an issue every spring: Something's stuck. Reversing Valve? Usually after some monkeying by tapping the valve; switching back and forth AC/Heat, it clears up and is good for the season. Not this year however. I know this is a complicated system. Possibly more than can be solved via this forum since I may not have all the instrumentation, expertise, etc.

I that light however, does anyone have some tricks for diagnosing one of these systems? Temperature here? Voltage there? Capacitors?

I'd appreciate if any of you experts out there could offer some suggestions.

If I read this correctly you are saying the compressor doesn't come on at all or even try to start, correct?
 
Apparently the culprit is indeed a stuck reversing valve because it started working again (like it does every year). The folks at Marine Air has recommended adding a lubricant to the system. It is called Supco 88 Oil Additive. They also said that it'd probably be difficult finding a reversing valve for my unit because of it's age. Marine Air VR6K-Hm circa 1989.
 
Makes no sense . A stuck reversing valve will give heat or cooling . No nothing . There is no lubricant to add . The system has oil that circulates with the refrigerant to lubricate the compressor . So something's way off on all fronts

Agreed, makes no sense. I am having trouble w my system too, it's from '88. Marine refrig repair expert says the system is completely sealed...there should be no place/opportunity to add lubricating oil...
