Marine Max Service

Jim ,
I know my serial #'s !!!!! ( and I even have a secret mark ) so its a burn mark ... its mine !!!!!

: )

I forgot to mention the carpet stains from the defrosted refrig but u caught it ...

SO the deal with the new boat is it will be serviced on the road ONLY ...

WE SEE HOW WELL THATS GOING .....

Good luck with the new boat..

Rob

I've also had lots of "fun" with the service from MM on Long Island.

I just needed some really basic stuff on my new boat - replace a couple bolt-on parts that could have been mailed to me. The list did grow a little, but about 25 calls and four months later its finally fixed. Complete aggrevation. I had to get my sales guy to lean on the service dept and threaten to make a ruckus at the boat shows. The sales team was great, service writers have not been good. At least their Ambassador status means that the trips to my boat were free. One thing they did do was vacuum my carpet when they left - they cleaned up the dirty footprints that I left on the rug.

BTW, I'm very pleased with the boat.

I'm considering buying a fishing arch for my boat, but after this experience am very reluctant to get one from MM.

Guys...
Just got a call from MM SS# Lindy Re: outdrive service they want to perform. Purchased the 260 in Aug. 06 35 hrs..Service Rep said there is break-in oil in the outdrive..they will also pressure test the unit ..etc. Is this needed considering it hours.. BTW he mentioned that in the spring I'll also need to bottom paint the boat.. I saw her when she was hauled out and it looked fine..I was told that it has lost its anti-fouling capabilities? Let 'er rip....

Oh please.....

First the outdrive fluid should be changed but there's no break in oil...

Sad thing is if u tell them to do it they use magic wrench's that dont leave grip marks.... ( oil never gets changed ) Spark plugs never get changed on and on....

I can't remember who it was on here but .. 4 years later had same plugs and wires . Of couse they billed every year for a plug change and i think one or two tune ups ...

Tag everything... trust no one ...

Sorry .. MHO...

Rob

260... whos ur Serivce writer.. Trina or Charlie ?

Charlie is my writer...at least till I motor out to Strongs in Mattituck in April. At that point I'll be dealing with SS3, East End.. They are not MM I'm told. Anyone with expirience out east?
Anthony

MM Purchased all ss3 assets....

So if ss3 owned them there marine max....( im not familiar with out east but i know it cant have a ss3 sign any longer.. so if it was a partner ship it will go back to its old name before ss3.

Charlie's new.... Good kid .. I met him when he was rigging boats.

Don,
Bruce got moved over to sales.....

We will miss him ...

They didnt give him a choice about moving over... and the messed up part is they didnt have anyone to replace him when they forced him out .. so there is no senior writer... on greens and TRINA ... which is more of a liability ..

Rob

AAAAHHHH........Trina saved my butt one day.......... she's good in my book.

Bruce will probably sell more boats then anyone............... good man !!!

Saved ur butt?? she threw u a beer ? ?

The guy with the meridian behind me sold his gas boat for diesel .. was soo happy he didnt have to deal with her... then bruce got moved... lol hes not happy.....

so do tell ur story Don....

I guess eventually shes has to get something right....

Its the law of averages.... right ???
Rob

Late one Saturday afternoon ...the first day of our 12 day vacation...on the way over to Watch Hill....I blew a prop shaft seal....and was taking on water bad. I called SS3 (in a panic)...she arranged for the guys to hang around till I got there....and hauled the boat out. Everyone was inplace and travel lift waiting......It would have been a long (sleepless) wait till Monday morning. She had us fixed and back in...on our way...in 48 hrs.

OH....and she made sure the shore power was plugged in the whole time so the beer in the frig didn't get warm.

NOT BAD..........

Wow...

Im errr shocked....

Guess im tainted....

How many years ago though???

Rob

DoubleD is there still a merry-go-round in Watch Hill? Are the Olympia Tea Room and Snuffy's still there?

Jim..........Thats the Watch Hill on Fire Island N.Y...... I should have stated that.

I was also told by MM that I should repaint the bottom of the boat. We saw her when she was hauled out and it looked fine...Boat was in the water for 2 months..please advise.
Anthony
