The Admiral likes the looks of the Carver Mariner. We weekend on a Sundancer and the biggest issue is privacy. For example, if she wants to sleep late, and I want coffee, we're stuck together in the same space.

Now I know lots of bridge boats will give me a separate cabin but she not crazy about sitting way up on a bridge. The Mariner seems like a compromise.

Anybody have good or bad to say a about late model Mariners?

Mariners are fantastic boats. Great party boats with the huge flybridge. We have an older 36 that has a v-birth and mid-cabin. With the coach and dinette it will sleep eight. We had the three of us and another family of four out for the entire weekend.. Wasnt bad at all..

We went from an Chris Craft 332 Commander express cruiser similar to your 'dancer. We now have a 1990 Mariner. We still have a cockpit area and have only a few steps to a flybridge that can host a party or down a few steps to adequate space for two adults and possibly a well-behaved child or two. The Mariner does not have as much natural light in the salon as a true sedan, but probably more than a Sundancer. I am very happy with the move, but my wife absolutely loves the Mariner over the express.
