I have twin Inline-6 Mercruisers in my boat. Am running Rochester 2-barrel carbs on both with mechanical fuel pumps. At cruising speed, fuel burn is 6-8 GPH per side. If I ran into a situation where the fuel pump went out on either motor, could I run both engines from the one good fuel pump in an emergency situation? Will the one pump be able to supply the 12-16 GPH that would be required to get the boat back up to cruising speed?
