I have a problem with my mercruiser 7.4l Bravo3 overheating when I warm it up.. After about 5 minutes I have white smoke or steam as it was explained to me. I have been told it is the impeller which I went to replace today.
When I took the hoses off the water pump, water poured out and filled the bildge. It got to the point where I had to stop and reconnect the hoses in order to stop the flow of water.
My question is why would water continue to pour out of the pump. Also I was not able to remove one of the hoses which I am assuming is the intake house from the lower unit.
I am stumped on this one. Unfortunately the Marina where I have my boat does not provide a mechanic anymore so I am doing it myself.
Thanks in advance.
