Mega Tow

I was watching this on "Mega Transports" on Amazon Prime while on the treadmill. I found it really interesting. The most amazing thing to me was the fact that the tow cable, even under tension sags 400' below the ocean surface. The tug is the ALP Striker, world's largest ocean going tug towing one of the world's largest oil rigs from South Korea around the Horn to Tenerife. . Having to sit through karaoke would put me over the side. Interesting when they pull through the shallows that they bring it in closer to manage the sag. I would have thought he meant to say the maximum would be 400 meters, not the minimum.

With that kind of sag, you could have a ship pass between the tug and the tow and not snag a thing!
