I have a 1986 mercruiser 170. It does not have a typical alternator with belts etc. Does anyone know where it is located. I think it's on the front of the engine. I found a cyclinder shaped item which is connect to the distributor, battery etc. Maybe it works off the distributor assembly rotation or something. I know its a strange set up but its all mine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
