I just bought a mercruiser 3.0 on a 1987 Glastron bowrider, the boat had sat for 2 years without being properly stored or covered and, I believe, the engine compartment had filled with rain.
So here's my problem: doesn't start. Originally didn't even turned over, so I have replaced the battery, the starter selenoid assist, the coil, points, condenser, rotor, and plugs. Now I have spark all the way to the lead coming off the coil. But still the engine won't fire.
Is there a test to check the distributor cap? I don't have spark from there out. Nor do I have any scent of gas in the carb.
Any thoughts, anyone?
