I've recently tuned up my 1988 Mercruiser 3.0L (Alpha One). I took it out Sunday and it ran pretty nicely (i've only had it for a year now - and i gotta say, this is the best it's sounded since owning it.) My problem is - after running her for about 10 minutes i stopped and let her sit for a minute or so. Then when trying to restart her I couldnt get her to fire up unless i pumped her full throttle. Any ideas what the cause could be? Could there be water in the fuel?? I have installed a fuel/water seperator and have also added fuel additives for removing water.
On land (i trailer the boat) I can run her for several minutes, turn her off, and then turn the key and she'll fire right up. If i let her sit for a couple of minutes (on land) she'll be a little troublesome starting as well - but definately more troublesome out on the water. Any ideas?
