Mercruiser 4.3L Drain Plugs

The location of the block cooling system drain plugs are as follows: facing the motor, midway back on the lower right side of the block, and right behind the front motor mount on the left side of the block. Don't forget the exhaust drain plugs, take the front lower cooling hose connection loose and drain, the hot water heater (if you have one), and drain the bowl on your hull incoming water line for your toilet. I also flush a gallon of red antifreeze down the toilet, and run all the fresh water out of the faucets. If you store in a non heated area, try to run a bilge heater of some kind. There are a few other things like changing the lower unit or outdrive oil, etc., but are clearly described in most manuals. Buy yourself the motor and outdrive manual for your engine-it'll save you money!
