Have a 1995 Searay w/ twin 454's. One engine stalled but started after holding throttle down all the way. Get a heavy smell of gas from both engine exhaust. Both engine's spark plugs are badly fouled and strong smell of gas on plugs.
So my questions: 1) Can this be fixed by simply adjusting the mixture screw? 2) If not, how to you determine if the carb needs a complete replacement, or just a rebuild? 3) How difficult is it to rebuild the carb myself?
Outside of the obvious sign the engines are running way too rich, the boat runs great. No bog down upon acceleration or once on plane. Usually starts great. Hate to replace 2 carbs for only a slight adjustment.
Thanks
