I removed the outdrive from my mercruiser 170 (alpha 1 1986) for maintenance, greased everything replace gaskets, seals etc. When I installed the drive the shifter cable became stuck/frozen. I removed the drive again, cable moved freely, replace the drive, cable stuck again. I pulled the drive about 2 inches off and the cable moves freely. I have it in forward and followed the Selco manual. Any tips??? Everything seems in place, gear in forward etc.
Don't get me wrong. It was fun removing and replacing the drive by myself 6 times in the 90+ degree sun, but I'd like to get this working.
Thanks
