I picked up a 1977 sea ray with a 470 I/O and the pre/ owner had a shop install an alternator.
My problem is that it was stock with a OEM voltage regulator ( water cooled) and I checked altenator kit's they show a single wire with the new alt wire being tied into two cut wires on the voltage reg. ( this can be seen at www.wagnerproducts.com/dc602.htm )
Installed in my boat is two wire alt (SEA J1171) with black lead to the coil and red lead to what appears to be the trim solnoid mounted at the back of the boat.
ANY SUGESTIONS ON WIRING OR INFO ON WHERE I CAN GET HELP WOULD BE GREAT.
