Just took the boat out for the first time this year, the steering's locked up. I'm pretty sure it's the steering cable as the wheel won't turn at all, if it was the power steering it should still turn but hard. Anybody out there with any experience, pointers, how to articles etc. Is this something a backyard mech can do ? I looked at the how to mechnical articles, but nothing on this issue. Mine is a '79 searay cuddy with a 228 merc. sterndrive. Thanks for any help.
