I took off a piece of my skeg on an outdrive and am thinking of repairing it with the installation of a stainless steel Skeggard (sold at BoatFix at http://tinyurl.com/l537l ). I already know that aluminum (the skeg)and stainless steel are not compatible.
In order to install it I need to push the Skeggard into place, drill 2 holes near the top of the skeg and install the stainless steel hardware.
Do I need to take any precautions when installing this stainless steel hardware on my aluminum skeg?
I am concerned about galvanic corrosion.
TIA!
