Miami - Nantucket live on Webcam...

Whats the plan for tonight? Are you going to try and make an overnight run up to Nantucket?

You guys left NYC awfully late today. I thought that if you wanted to get to Nantucket late today you would have left really early this morning. Slept in instead?

I'd take a run out to see you pass by unless its going to be dark (not much point going at that time).

Darn, I was so busy dealing with a personal problem, I totally missed your visit to NYC. I would definitely have stopped by to talk about my sneaker shaped boat, egg beaters in the bow and other interesting Pascalish topics.

Sorry about the weather, it was down right raw the last couple of days. Good for you staying at the North Cove Marina. It used to be re-configured differently but alot of things changed since 911. The flag in the famous 911 flag-raising photo came from a boat anchored in that marina. I stayed there once on a day-trip, it was very interesting docking in the shadow of the towers.

As far as service, the marina used to be run by liberty landing and so you might have to wait for someone to come across the river for the adapter.

Pascal: it would be interesting to get a summary at the end. Number of days and hours run, average SOG vs set speed, fuel used, stopping points, what you would do differently, etc
 
Whew, I thought for a while that some had stolen the camera. Now I see it is back up. What is that lady eating? She sure doesn't look that old.

I once stayed across the river at Lincoln Harbor. The surge was so bad that most of the women sat on the bank all day watching their boats jump up and down.
 
time to hole up for the night. I am not as familiar with the Ct shore but Pt. Jefferson is just ahead on LI. A well sheltered place to drop the hook and crash.

Doc... that was Naomi at the helm... no she's "not that old" :-)

We're going to anchor out before sunset, probably the Thimbles, looks really beautiful... then tomorrow Newport. After so many long days, it was good to do a short one and we left around 12:30. walked around a little, etc...

just for the record, the board seen on some shots is not mine... it's Naomi's... she went shopping, not me :-)

so far this is day 15th, just about 1500NM right now, most at 10kts. we did maybe a total of 4 or 5 hours at 22kts. about 2400 USG so far. The Cat displays have fuel flow and total burn so it's easy to figure out fuel burn, which matches what we pump in less generators.

Walshie, it's hard to plan ahead on such a trip... so far we're pretty much on schedule but it's hard to be sure and make plans! I hope the next run will not be as hectic
 
That is killer. Live video to the engine room. It must be nice on the other side - I always find myself upside down holding up the cover...lol
