Might need a capt in Cincinnati area

Looking at buying a 65 ft Pluckebaum bay master in Ohio. I might need a capt to bring it to me in NW La. It's about 1300 miles. Should take about 8 to 10 days.. If you know of anybody please let me know so I can discuss the fees.

Don't know about a captain but deck hands shouldn't be hard to come by. That's a big ass boat!

8 to 10 days may be quite an optimistic ETA, Jay. Is the Red even navigable from the MS River to Bossier?

I have a friend that made this run a few years ago. Yes it is navigable. Lock Thursday at old river off the Mississippi. 214 miles to my marina off the miss,
 
Jay, at $250.00 per hr., we're in the wrong business.
 
250 per day plus expenses is more likely.. Jay, have you considered making the trip yourself? Spending a couple of weeks aboard 65 footer may be a terrific vacation.
 
Bruce I have considered it.... This is my busy time of year with work. I might be better off minding my business instead of playing on the boat. I do agree that it would be a great run!
 
A friend of mine owns a Pluckebaum on the Ohio, and I know a captain who might be interested. Send me a message if interested.

He is an experienced captain and does this work routinely. He is based out of Louisville which is the next major port of call that you would pass through. He is reasonable and does this for a living.

Whatever Captain you hire if he needs a mate I'll do it just for expenses. I don't have a lot of river experience nor much experience wit a boat that large. But as a #2, I'd love to do the trip.

The Red River can be kind of sporty this time of year, whomever you hire, make sure they are experienced running the Red during high water times. Weirs, bridges and locks all eat boats/barges on the Red.
