Heading to Sailors Haven this Wednesday morning then over to Atlantique on Friday. Last day of summer today and the temps supposed to be in the 80's. I'll take it!! At 6:30AM the winds are kicking up here in Brightwaters, but out of the SW. The weather guy says its 7mph, but looks more to me. A front is moving though later today to remind us fall is coming. If anyone is around SH or Atlantique come say hi.

What's the story at Atlantique?
Non residents can get in now, right?
I may swing by this weekend, will give you a call.

I think so, you should be fine. I was going though some pictures and found that we did the same two marina trip last year and you and Walter came the same weekend to Atlantique.

There should be plenty of slips. They are still collecting from Friday - Sunday, through the Columbus Day weekend. Sunday's are half-price although I do not know whether that applies to non-residents. Water and electric is still on with the bathrooms/showers open from Friday - Sunday. Looks like the good weather will be around throughout. Water taxis are still providing lateral service on weekends, also through Columbus Day weekend.

I wish I could join you again, but my niece is getting married Saturday in NJ and I am using my head and staying over, so that sinks boating this weekend.

Actually Norwalk boat show is sunday, so we are going to go there.
May come Friday to Saturday. Going to show by friends north shore boat on sunday.

I hear that Norwalk is a good show. Going over the Sound to get there makes it ever better. For the last 3 years, I have gone to the Ft. Myers show, but it has gotten smaller each year. And they only serve that rice beer, Bud!!
This year I will find something else to do down there.

We are at Sailors Haven and looks like we are staying until Sunday. Only a few boats here at this time, but we met up with some very nice people and hit it off. There is now a Friends of SH and they are haveing an event Sat with a band, food, drinks etc 2-6. $20 per person. Was going to head to Atlantique today, but we want to check this event and new organization out. It is so nice here when there are only a handful of boats and nice people. But Saturday is expected to get busy.

We met Adam, (AF) and we BS'ed for a while, nice guy.

Very Foggy this morning, but expected to clear up.

Thanks Brad for the comment. It was nice meeting you and your wife at Sailors Haven. Spent Friday running around in the fog that only seemed to get worse as the day went on.

We did end up staying the whole time at Sailors. The weather was mostly good except for a foggy day on Friday which did not clear up until almost dusk. There was a breeze the whole time which kept going almost in a circle. SW, N, NE SE… We ended up moving from the west wall to the east wall #36 on Thursday. I never or rarely get queasy from rocking, but 5 days 4 nights got to me a little, not much, but enough go to the snack bar instead of making food in the boat on Sunday.

On Saturday they had a party with an excellent band, good food, drinks and everyone had a great time. I love going this time of year, but Saturday felt like a summer weekend as they completely filled up for the party. Most of the people I spoke with squashed the rumors that they may close the Marina part of SH, that would be a big shame. By the looks of some of the improvements, I don't think it will happen. Also seems they have a lot of supporters and now including Linda and I.

They are tring to come up with a name and Friends In Sailors Haven (FISH) as been tossed around.

If anyone here was at Sailors Haven this past weekend 9/22-26... I may have a nice picture of you. PM me or e-mail me at bgroener at optonline . net Or use the e-mail address on the card I may have given you.

Of course put the e-mail address in the correct format.
