A few questions:
1. The boat has not had the bottom painted since it was new. I dove under and the bottom is covered in thick slime. It is a 2000 model cruser 3375 in freshwater. Is it time for a paint job?
2. Does the above induce drag?
3. My trim switches do not indicate slight bumps of trim and really do not indicate the outdrives trim setting until they are trimmed so high that the boat begin porpising. Is this an adjustment I can make in the water? If so then how?
4. I seem to be using quite a bit more fuel in the port engine. Could this be from the port engine being trimmed differently than the starboard? Or could it be that it needs tuned?
5. The port engine runs slightly higher than the 175 degrees the starboard engine indicates. Not extreme probably just a gage difference.
6. The port engine battery charge gauge indicates only 11 volts at idle and jumps to 12 volts with increased rpm. The starboard engine indicates 13 volts at idle and around 14 at increased rpm.
5. Both hourmeters indicated the same hours when I bought the boat. Now the port hour meter indicates 10 fewer hours than the starboard. Both gauges have increased in time and the starboard gauge is an accurate depiction of the hours the engines have seen. Both engines have been run the same amount of time.
6. Both engine batteries have been replaced with new. The above situation is still occuring.
Could the problems with the port engine be related to each other and be electrical in nature?
Perhaps low spark voltage resulting in more load on the engine and it burning more fuel?
Help me guys. I am a little worried about my used but NEW to me boat!!!
Thanks
