Misc. Great Lake Destinations

Great Pics! I'd love to make it up to Torch Lake one day. I have heard the water is beautiful!

The Hatteras convertible,, "Superior Nights". You can see the bridge and bow as it was backed in the 60' slip on the floaters. My wife recalls the name of your boat and seeing it, small world, but a good world when boating!

There ia a bunch of us from western Lake Erie that will be running up into Lake St. Clair next year. We are looking for your recommendations on local knowledge. We are always interested in new places to go. Sarnia has a bayfest event. What is this like? We usually have about 8 to 10 boats. Mid to end of July are the cruise dates.

Bayfest was fun. We just went last year. It really depends on how much you like to Party! I had a pregnant wife and another couple/boat this year and it was kind of overwhelming. If it was a weekend my wife and I could let loose, it would have been fun. If you like crowds, dont go. If you like to people watch its great!

When your group plans to head this way, just shoot....I am born and raised here on LSC and can give you almost all of the pros and cons of the area. If you are interested in spending any time on the hook, the flats offer many sandy protected areas. We will have to keep in touch on this topic.

Great photos. This past July, 1st night on the hook in crystal bay.Boblo Island Ferry ride to Ahmhurstberg and Don Luccanos for dinner. Windsor, Lakeview Park Marina, La Contessa for dinner. The next morning we toured the Hiram Walker distillery. We were over served. On to the Old Club, explored Muskemoot Bay. Then Wallaceberg. Next, St. Clair and toured Fred Moores antique boats. A few rounds of golf. Voyeger for dinner. Then Cove Marina where we charted a boat and went fishinf for Muskie. Boy, that is a big fish. 4 of us caught 18 in about 6 hrs. We released all of them. From there we ran back to our docks. 12 days total time out. We are always up to an adventure. Looking for your input.

Hey Ken,

Question for you. We have kept our boats on the Canadian side of Lake St.Clair for about the last 16 years.

We boat over to the US side of Lake St. Clair a number of times each season to enjoy, Metro Beach, Bouvier Bridge in Anchor Bay, MacRay harbor etc.

We would like to do more overnight anchoring over on the US side of Lake St.Clair and wondered if you had any feedback to offer as to what you would suggest to be the best spots? Any place good around Strawberry Island or Muskamout Bay?

We anchored overnight in the back basin of Metro Beach this season and that's a neat little spot.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike.
