As far as lashing out, what about the tower incident. Seems there was more than information for all in that post.

Marine max takes a healthy cut for their services. You would expect them to do something for their money.

Do you know anyone that has ever bought a car without driving it first?
Who would buy a boat without putting in the water and at least asking how things work being it was assumed everything was in good working order wouldn't you want to know how things work? This doesn't make sense.

I wish the OP well and hope the step up to make things right but if this was a brokered boat they probably never even looked at it.

How could putting a boat in the water cause water to spew out of any of these areas???

If the boat was winterized it would be likely the all sinks and showers would be left open so if water was added to the tank and the pump was turned on then I guess water would begin spewing hopefully this is a simply thing and will just take a few minutes to straighten out.
 
Guys, I'm guessing this poster is a first time owner, new to the industry. I am willing to bet he never heard of such a thing as a "survey". Before we treat him too harshly (we need more boaters not less) lets drop him a line and invite him back for some clarifications. Marine Max represents itself as someone trustable to guide people into boat ownership. We all see their ads and to the first time buyer it is an appealing ideal. The hype runs up against the reality of the industry, especially in brokerage boats. I suspect this is a case where marketing hype runs up against unrealistic expectations fueled by an abundance of ignorance of industry practices.

guide arm would simply be the side rails that help align and center a boat on a trailer. Why do I understand what is being referred to and so many don't. Am I that much smarter or are a lot of RO's just looking for something to complain about. And how many knew the correct terminology in the beginning when referring to boats. Shame on you.

That's what I thought he might be referring to, but all they do is guide you onto the trailer from the water. The OP said that rotted guide arm "endangered himself and other road users", which makes no sense at all.

You didn't read his post carefully enough. Shame on you.
 
The wood is probably so rotten that it has potential to fall off while towing.

Was it this site where a person posted asking where his generator would be located only to find out the boat did not have one as advertised.
 
If he ever comes back my advice would be to hire a surveyor to document what's going on then take that to marine max manager and ask for a written response. He may have been royally screwed or not but I cant tell from his description.

The problem is that the guy has no interest in learning about boating and rectifying his problems. His only interest is to trash Marine Max. There are two sides to this story and I am surprised Les has left it up. As I recall, these one sided accounts would get deleted.

It makes sense if he is talking about it breaking away from the trailer while he is towing it on the highway where it could hit a car driving behind or around him. Not sure how much of a danger it would be to the person towing the trailer though.
