One very large 10'x14' Wood Panel that serves our break water wall. It was on land at the CYC after just being constructed but floated away this morning during high tide!!

The Coast Guard has been called because if someone hits this puppy, it's going to cause damage.

If anyone sees it, please drop me an e-mail, it took a long time to build, costs a few bucks and we rather not start from scratch.
 
I just hope I don't find it the hard way, now that would suck!
 
Check with AYC on the Island. Rumor has it they are looking for plywood to make bases for boat stands. You never know...
 
This is not plywood...this panel weighs about 1000 pounds and is made of

Horizontal: 14 3"(true)x12"x10'ers
Vertical: 4 3"x14'ers to sandwich the horizontal pieces
Diagonal: 2 diagonal pieces, not sure of length.
 
You might let the marine police units know as well as the CG. Maybe someone will see it and let you folks know. They were very helpful locating a dink for some loopers up by us last summer. It could be north or south.
 
I'm headed down to YYC in a hour or two to check the boat. I'll let Palisades B.C. know too.

If I had the boat in the water Chris, I would go looking for it for you. But then I wouldnt need much of an excuse to go out anyhow...Good luck and hope it shows up ...
 
FOUND!

A member launched their CC and went in search of on Sun. It was high and dry on "Black Beach" directly West of us (2mi or so) near the new Havestraw condos.

They bagged it and tagged it (tied it to a tree) and it was towed home on Tuesday by the Commodore at high tide.
 
Great news! I guess you folks will lash them up a bit more next year...
 
Dan, it was just finished being built and sitting on the ground (relatively high ground) in front of the crane waiting to be lifted to the pile drive for installation. Nobody dreamed lashing it down would be necessary. We also had finger floats on land(in wait of repair) re-float and end up in the basin.

Someone musta let the air out of the crane tires or that would have floated away too.
 
Hey great to hear that Chris...I was surprised it was on the west shore but I guess the winds blew it over to use. A little further north and we could have just put it on our break wall. Oh well better luck next time...
