I'm heading out to Montauk on Saturday. Weather willing I plan on going out Moriches Inlet rather than back tracking to FI Inlet. I haven't been through Moriches since Sandy. What are the buoys to look for after #15 as I head Southeast towards the Inlet?

I ran through there Saturday channel was well marked and inlet was nice and deep

It's pretty easy and plenty of water before inlet, it's after it gets skinny. As indicated, leave channel west of green #15 and follow it up to inlet. We went this route 3 weeks ago and it was fine, though we didn't go into inlet, we stayed inside. Inlet looked fine to me, but I know in certain winds it can get rollers in there. Try to catch the high or slack tide!
 
Walter, thanks, I thought I had seen a post on Moriches.

Dave, thanks, my plan is to go through Saturday around 1300, which should be slack tide. Coming home is another story, either an 0646 slack tide or an 1908 one, neither of which I'm crazy about. I'm hoping for no wind and calm seas....
