Probably heading east this weekend.
I am still on land and hoping to launch today or tomorrow and will head east either Saturday or Sunday. I got a real late start this year as I had to have the 10 year POD service done and it took longer than I expected due to a part needed. But boat is ready and after a good bay test I will head to Riverhead for the season.

Since I just had alot of work done, I am not sure the ocean is where I want to be. PLus the winds the last 2 days are kicking it up. So I may head inside at high tide.

Has anyone been thru moriches? I hear it is good and no issues. I will go slow at high tide.

Thanks.

Well I will provide the update.
Went thru yesterday at almost high tide.
Never saw less than 5’ which is 7’ with my offset.
We went thru slow just to be sure but you can go fast on plane.
It does get skinny in a couple of spots so if another boat was coming I wouldn’t want to be on plane.
Run is totally straight. Original channel on your charts.
Well marked. Usual fishing guys blocking buoys and in channel

All in all Moriches looks good for big boats.

Bridges were a hassle due to emergency vehicles on beach.
Apparently when they have an emergency they don’t open the bridge.
Guess that’s what we get for going Memorial Day weekend.

Will post track when I download off iPad.

FYI. I used the navionics auto route. Good for most of run but made 2 big mistakes. So if you rely solely on that be prepared.
I had that and my old trails and old trail was right.

Here is Moriches path.

It's been a month now has anyone else gone through? I'm going to head through Saturday and just wanted to know if the dredging has held up.

Went thru today
Plenty of water
Same path I posted before!

Went through yesterday at high tide coming back from Westhampton. Plenty of water at high tide. I actually did it on plane pretty much the entire way accept for one small part where the fishing boats for some reason were hovering around the buoys and I wanted to be nice and not rock them. I still think you need to do I it at around high tide just to be safe.
