Figured I would start this one again, as the last one got several laughs and I will admit to mine.
Bought bass boat, never had one before, never had one with electric shift. Went over motor, changing all fluids, plugs etc. ran it with boot, run fine, shifted fine, took to lake for sink test. Put it in water, let out pull strap, boat floats, great! started engine, let it idle in neut. every thing looking good, still tied to trailer, brought engine up to half throttle, still in neut. was suddenly launched forward, on trailer, then into bed of truck, OH CRAP! Shut it down. Here comes game warden, uh ohhhhh. Asked if I was ok, yes, po'ed, but ok, then he starts to laugh, and laugh. Got boat back in water, game warden still laughing, switch still in neut, restarted, back on trailer I went, this time I left it there, took it home. Shift syl. burnt up, installed spare, shifts fine again. Went back to lake, game warden is telling some one about what happened, and is still laughing. Boat in water, pointed AWAY from truck, idled in neut. for 10min, all is good. rode around for a little while, went by game warden shack, he still laughing, shifted to neut. then all of a sudden, I get launched again as I am trailering. Blew the coils again. Turns out, you can't put 90wt in the foot of one of these, they use dextron 3, oooppppsssss, guess I should have looked that one up..........D....
