Were looking at a 396 and the 444. I hear there basically the same boat but the 444 has the cockpit. Any and all info on these would be greatly appriciated..
Thank you

check out Pete's sticky "Useful Carver Info" you will find all the factory data. As I have a baby Carver, no personal experience other than, they are definitely bigger than mine!

Im not really looking for factory data. More real life expierances on the best choices for a motoryacht. My children are 2, 4 and 8

What year boat. The older Carver's measure true length. The newer ones cheat....they all do.

we have a 3607 loa 42 and we love it, i take 4 of us out and a 7,10 yr olds out and have room to enjoy it.

We have the 444CMY and absolutely love it. The room is tremendous. You are correct the 396 and 444 are the same boat with the exception of the cockpit which is one of our favorite areas on the boat. Inside the boats are the same.

We really fell in love the Carver 444 and seriously considered purchasing one. After further review though we thought the Carver was a beautiful boat we felt we needed an additional stateroom more for our family and selected a Cruisers 445 instead. I really was disappointed that none of the newer Carvers had a full 3rd stateroom with twins or bunks.

We have a 444 and love it. We have the full seate instead of the dining area which gives you much more space. We have slept 8 (4 adults and 4 teenages) with no space issues. We looked at the 396 but opted for the 444 because of the extra outside seating area in the cockpit. You will get backwash over the swim platform on the 444 and that will impact any onboard dingy options you have.

Were looking at a 444 that is in Fla. The motors are Volvo TAMD 63P370 deisel. If we do but it we may make a trip of it and bring it up to the Chesapeake ourselves. We have a 32 Sundancer now...although a nice boat just too small and gets crowded real quick.
We really do like the rear cockpit feature and the sliding door into the master...
