I posted a question about this to Les a few days ago - Haven't gotten a reply yet...

Although I've finally subscribed and have a shiney new anchor, I'm being denied access to NBR.

I hate to still be missing all the 'fun' in there.

Is there something (besides subscribing) that I need to do to gain access?

Jay, I wasn't sure of your political affiliation. We only allow republicans in there with the odd sacrifical democrat anode. However, I gave you access (Gary was right, just missed it first time around). Steve, you should be all set as well. We usually charge plumbers twice the prevailing rate but I let it slide this time.

L. Keith, the reason it is there is because I don't like to take money without giving something in return. When we started the voluntary subscriptions a couple of years ago, I added a place where some of the folks here could discuss stuff other than boating, like friends do from time to time. I restriced it to subscribers as a benefit and had no problem doing that because, as you say, this is a boating forum. All the boating areas are open to anyone. Subscribers, many of whom have become friends, can say just about anything in a relatively private. As Radio says, what goes on in the NBR forum stays in there.

Zack, you seemed a tad frazzled so I didn't want to exacerbate the problem by subjecting you to the NBR. However, you should be all set now.
