My 17 year old son has been playing guitar for a few years now and he is pretty good. He's played in a few shows with the School or Rock and has been playing in some open jams around LI and NY but this is his first real gig.

He is playing at Toast & Tapas in Syosset with one of his guitar teachers this Thursday (5/2) from 8-10 for anyone that likes good food and some bluesy music.

Here's a sample from an impromptu appearance Andrew made at one of his teacher's gigs last month: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnT3NAmlsrU

If any of you are in the area and are looking for something to do this Thursday, stop by for a land-based raftup and I'll buy you a drink.

Jeff,
Thanks for the invite but I will be away on business.
Hope it goes well, he sounds great!

I love the blues, but getting ready for our trip down from Conn. Best of luck.

I'll put it up on my bands site too. Sounds like fun. My bands a hack and since Molly's doesn't look to promising, we're probably gonna play some smaller places but all are welcome. Great to see young people getting their Jam On.....

Thanks, Douglas. If you put it up please send me a link to your site.

Also, folks, this just in....1/2 price wine glass and pint beer specials are on for Thursday. Kinda makes my offer for a drink a little less inticing but can make for a fun night either way!

Hope to see some of you there...I'll be easy to spot. I'll be the bald guy running around like a nervous wreck trying to get good video footage.

So...the whole every other Thursday night thing when to **** because the owner of the restaurant didn't bother telling anyone that he was actually going to be open late on Thursday nights so he flipped when the only ppl in the place were the dozen or so people I brought. I later learned he expected me to fill the place every Thursday that they were to play...a tall order. Moving on and trying to find a replacement venue as we speak.

Anyway, thanks for the well wishes and support and, for your listening pleasure, here is killing it at some jams on Monday night:

That's a shame. For some reason that place is always empty. It's not your job to fill it.

Sounds great! Hopefully next time more of us could make it to enjoy his riffs.
