So yesterday my wife and I took the plunge and got back into boating. I came across a deal I couldn't pass up on an older, but well maintained, Monterey bowrider that fit the bill for easing back into boating.

We'll be using it on the local lakes, cruising around, tubing, taking friends out, etc. I can't believe it has been 12 years since I owned a boat...and we're back to where we started in boating.

Now to get to work outfitting it. It's all in the timing, just last week I gave my son all of my dock lines, anchor, anchor lines, and other gear for his newly acquired bass boat. So I guess I'm going shopping.

I'll be looking for recommendations as I go...

Welcome Back!

Looks nice. I/O powered?

Have fun!

Yup...3.0 Volvo

I would rather a 4.3, but couldn't find anything that wasn't trashed around here without spending much more than we wanted to spend on our first jump back in.

Just when I thought my wallet was safe, they dragged me back in!

Congrats B, now go buy all those new, much needed, accessories you gave away to your old boating friends. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

LOL!!! True story Bill...

Nice, you know a few years ago I went from a 30' cruiser to my little bowrider - it suit the type of boating I do and I just enjoy the simplicity of the small boat, low operation costs and keeping it safe in dry storage when I am not using it.

I'm pretty sure that the smaller the boat, the more it gets used.

What happened to the boat restoration project?
