Does anyone have a recommendation on a good shop to make me a new Bimini top and enclosure. I need new supports due to the current height. The top works fine if you are under 5'10", but at 6'1" I have to stoop slightly, or my head is pushing against the canvas. The boat is on a trailer, so any location from Spring Hill to St. Pete is OK.

Canvas West in Sarasota. Michael Town is the best. He built mine.

Bob Winkler, USYC in St. pete. Not sure if he will go that far north but he is the only guy many of us use in this area 322 5352

Ken, I don't remember the name of the place, but it's in Tarpon Springs, on Alt 19 right be the bridge, and the brokerage and the restaurant. Have seen their work and they are very good, but I can't speak to their prices. They will come to you, but I do remember they were cheaper if you took the boat to them and since you're in Tarpon and they are on the water, well.

Thanks dancer. I called Bob after Bruce recommended him. Real nice guy on the phone. I am going to carry the boat to him Saturday. I will let everyone know how much this sets me back.

Well, not exactly as planned. I had a buddy that needed to work on his boat and needed it on the hard. I put my boat on his lift and his boat is on my trailer.
I guess I have a minor quagmire. The way I see it is I gained a lift and lost a trailer.....maybe forever.[:-cry]
At the current rate of repair, and the weather that will dictate some of the work, I should have the trailer back in 2-3 months.
The extra time has allowed me to think up a better design. I just have to get it made now.
I might need to call Bob Winkler and see if he can come to the boat. That would speed things up a bit for me. I will call tomorrow and see if he will travel this far north.

I used Canvas West in Sarasota. Michael Town is the best. Realy did a custom job.
The zippers he used are the best and do not need to be lubricated.
He maximized my visabilty forward from what is was before.

Gioia Sails South has two locations in FL. They do all the work for Silverton. I've used them (Lakewood, NJ location) for well over 20 years & have never been disappointed with their pricing & quality. The two locations may be very far from you as I didn't look at a map; just their locations. Highly recommended !
