I know this is off topic, but, there are a number of highly intellegent people here, and a few lawers who might could give me some much needed good advice, and I am sory for the off topic post.

A week ago sunday, this is the short story, a man took a .38, fired 2 shots at my house, and then pointed the gun at my 20 year old son. after the first shot was fired, I rustled every one I could get my hands on, minus 1, and got them into the house, as we were entering, the second shot was fired. When I looked back, I seen him pointing the gun at my unarmed son. I ran and got my rifel, came out the door, and fired one warning shot in the air, 180 degrees from where he was standing, took aim on the center of his chest and told him to drop the gun. I did begin to squeeze the trigger, but he turned and ran, and I did not shoot. He was of course arested and charged with shooting into an occupied dweling. But, I was also arested and charged with exibition of a firearm. Now keep in mind, I was minding my own business, on my property, and did nothing to provoke this, nor did anyone else. My son was helping me work on his truck.

What would you have done? His 2 kids were outside when he began shooting, and had I have shot him, they would have seen it.

should I hire a lawer, for the toon of 1,000.00 to defend me or should I go at least to my initial apperence with out a lawer? I have been advised both ways.

Incedently, I am moving, and have put almost everything I own for sale ( not my boat though ). I did get out after just a few minutes with a very low bond, he on the other hand stayed 24 hrs, and had a very high bond.

Again, thanks for the advice, and sory for the off topic subject matter..........D.......
