My Standard Horizon DS150 shorted out and needs to be replaced. The unit is no longer produced and no one seems to have any old ones around. The transducer has an RCA jack but works great. Any suggestions as to what type I should replace it with? Also, is there any way to use the old transducer? Can I bypass the jack and just hard wire it? Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Have you confirmed it's not just a blown fuse or bad ground? If somehow just the screen was bad, but the rest was functional you could use the SH's NMEA 0183 interface to send depth data to a chartplotter or NMEA multi-repeater display if desired.

A search returns a Bethel Marine web ad for that discontinued DS150, but I bet it is just a very old/archived ghost ad :

Or... Perhaps figure out which transducer you have from this list of DS150 accessories:

If it was really made by Airmar, you might cross-reference here if it's still offered:

Then you might be able to punch in either the SH T/D or the Airmar model here to find out which wiring diagram matches that T/D:

Then check the diagram in the list to define wire colors and get the similar wiring from the maker of what ever new depthsounder you replace the dead one with ( as long as your depth T/D frequency is exactly the same as required for the new unit ( likely 200kHz) .

Airmar offers a nice handy junction box for splicing T/D cables to new connectors with cable.

may have something you could use but perhaps a company like Cruzpro might have a simpler dash depth display similar to your SH?

Faria has a round one: http://faria-instruments.com/products.php?calledGauge=2_depthsndr

Ebay offerings:

It may well be easier & happier result to replace depth instrument and T/D together.
