Need convertible top

anyone have any recommendations on a good place to replace a convertible top on my latest toy. 94 Jaguar XJS
 
I had a top done by Henjo in Lindenhurst 631-226-2569 a long time ago. He did great work so I also had him do the upholstery which also came out great.
 
Automat in Hicksville. Hands down, the best place I've ever seen for interior and convertible top work. They do a lot of high end classics there.
 
I heard you can make one yourself out of a shower curtain.
Sorry inside joke that most won't get!

Enjoy the new toy I've got an itch for something myself and may pull the trigger soon if the right deal comes along.
 
JVM spoke to automat and they were almost 50% more then another place I called.

Audrey, I suggested the shower curtain last weekend to some friends thinking of getting an enclosure for their center console.

So far enjoying the new toy, the v12 has a cool factor
 
I'm on the hunt for something I almost bought a Jag 2 years ago but got cold feet. I looked a 911 carrera and CLK 500 both convertibles this week but I just not sure what I want to get. I test drove the 500 today and I must say it's a beast it would be fun to drive but not sure if that's my style I love the Carreras but I know it would sit in my garage like my Boxster did for years.

Anyway enjoy the new car and post a few pictures when you get a chance.

I know they can be expensive, but sometimes paying a little more is worth it in the long run. Especially when it comes to a "toy" that you really care about.
If you were a car dealer that was regularly sending things to a shop for repairs, then price is certainly more of a factor, but for a one shot deal on a car you're going to keep, price may not always be the most important thing to consider.
I'm in to cars, as are most of my close friends, several of which I've been friends with since the teenage years (we all turned 60 this year, and all have some toys). I'm around classic cars a lot.
I've seen some really sloppy work.
Whoever you wind up going with, my best advice is make sure you get a good look at their work before you give them the job. Not just stuff that is finished in the shop, but try to get a look at things they did a year or two ago and see how they are holding up.
