Need to Remove Stuck Black Carpet Backing

Is there a simple way to remove the rubber carpet backing that has stuck to the non-skid cockpit deck? So far the only method that has worked to hard scrubbing.

Initially I'd use a plastic scraper to remove bulk of residue. Then you may want to try WD-40 to remove what's left. If that works satisfactorily; you can buy WD-40 by the gallon which is much cheaper than spray cans.
Most likely, acetone would work but it's too aggressive to leave on FG for extended length of time.

A good washing will sometimes remove as well. I used stuff called "Tuff Enough" sold at west marine. It worked well, also try pressure washing it.
