OK, I've found a boat that I would like to make an offer on. The asking price is $17900. This is a private sale, so there is no boat broaker involved. It's an early 90's Sea Ray CC that appears to be in good-excellent condition. The asking price does not include a trailer. The seller's ad states "make an offer". Any offer that I make would be contingent on a sea trial and an acceptable boat & engine survey.
All this being said, what would be a good initial offer? I don't want to start too high, but I also don't want to start too low and insult the seller.
