I have a 1987 Regal Commodore 277XL. The dash panels could stand to be replaced. They are about 1/4" think, but I do not know what the material is. There are two panels, one for the switches, that is about 3" by 20" and the second panel with all of the gauges, it is about 8" by 24".

Does anyone have any sugeestions as to what I could use, that is cost effective (IE Cheap, it is a 20 year old boat)?

Thanks

there is a local company here in Fort Lauderdale called HiTech. take the panels out and send them to HiTech, they can either refinish yours to factory condition or replace them with the same result. just make sure you take carefull notes and photos of the panel when it comes out so you get all the wires labled correctly and reinstalled that way. good luck with the project.

When I had my '86 277xl I replaced the dash and the guages using 1/4" Starboard. I eliminated the speedo and fuel guages. They never worked - I had a GPS for my speed and the sending units on the tanks showed the fuel levels. As I checked the engines at the start and end of every day it was easy to keep tabs on the fuel.

I used black (Many colors available) 1/4" plexiglass on a previous boat. Works quite well.
