New Dining Destination AT Blue Water Yacht Club

The problem is that the people in Government here on Long Island don't recognize the one major asset the region has, namely the water and everything that goes along with it.
They need to start looking at economic development that suits the location, and do more to enhance and promote water related activities.
I've been a registered member of a political party for my entire adult life. Moving to Long Island and seeing the incompetence and corruption here has made me ashamed to say that I am a member of that party.
The problem is that the other guys are no better.

Building a new bridge is expensive. I'm not from the area; no idea on how big that bridge is. Is it just a $1 million dollar bridge or a $20+ million dollar bridge. Keep in mind that if a taller bridge were built, it may very well promote boaters to go that area and enhance the revenue. But keep in mind that as more boaters flock to that area, there will be less boaters in another area. Someone with a boat can't be spending money for fuel, food, and dockage and two different places at the exact same time. The overall revenue gain will be roughly zero.

Walt, never said I didnt understand why you guys were complaining. suffolk boating is much different then nassau boating. NC is more land locked on the south shore, and SC, is somewhat the same, till you get east of the RM bridge.

Im assuming, you are refering to the 3rd wantagh bridge when you say they should have rebuilt it properly. Well, thats only one of the problems, you also have the meadow brook bridge, and then several for the loop pkwy as well.

Sail boats make it work, they just time their bridge passing accordingly.

Why should the local governments take US Long Island boaters seriously? Think about it, any place on the water on long island, can be reached by car or by ferry too. Boating is a luxury.. I dont see anything special about us. Ok so the gas docks cant service cars, so what do they do, they jack the price up.

It is what it is, and I just deal with it. Getting them to see it your way, my way, or any other way is just a waste of time.

If you think the Long Island boaters are clueless, dont even bother going west. The tighter the area, the worse the boaters are. You are actually keeping your sanity by staying east.

I used to boat east all the time. Now Ill just run out to the local cove, drop the hook and chill.

Back to the thread. They now deliver boat side. We had and entire seafood fest deliverd to the boat. They are stocking 4 lbs lobsters. So put it on ur list of lunch , dinner cruises.

OK.....we gotta check it out before we leave the Island ...........

So where do you dock for this place?
Is there transient docking or do we just raft up to "just for play"?

Dave , if you call the Marina they will guide you to a slip if possible . If not the gas do k when closed will be a good place . Their is also a courtesy dock and a few T docks to tie up too . Again the Marina will guide you !

We rafted at Jackson's to get fuel so heck anything is doable
