New owner of a 3607 Aft Cabin

Just saying "Hi".
Purchased a 1986 3607 Aft Cabin this week and am having it transported to Smith Mountain Lake, Va next week.
This will replace my Trojan Tri Cabin 36, which is already at SML, and for sale (please see the classifieds section if you know anyone that might be interested in a lot of boat for a little $).
Can't wait to get the "new" boat out on the water.

Anyone with 3607 experience have any tips for me? Common issues, etc.?

Which floor plan did you get (w/ dinette, or not)? Just dumped our 3607AC into the water today. 1982 vintage. Only issues I have found are my own continuous quest for perfection, and wish she had a hard top (still searching for one), + a pair of diesels! Even so, she's been a great boat for our family - I know you'll enjoy yours. A lot of room for that size boat - we're set up to sleep 8 (w/ dinette floor plan). Write me with any concerns or questions, and I'll be happy to give my input. I've refurbished ours from top to bottom (pic's are posted if you want some ideas) so I've worked through areas that might be helpful to you. And when I don't have answers, there are some fantastic folks on this forum who will gladly give you good advice. They've helped me often! That's what this is all about - helping each other not have to learn it the hard way. Give us some pic's when you get a chance...

I would love to see your pictures. Where might I find them?
My 3607 has a hard top and radar arch, and is the dinette layout. We needed more beds than were available on my Tri Cabin.
Not a bad Father's Day present, if I do say so myself.

Blowing out my Achilles this winter really put me back on my projects, + travel to EUrope every week has only left weekend time for the work. Since the EUropeans consider Friday the 13th GOOD LUCK I flew back from Belgium Friday morning and had the boys splash her in the afternoon.

rjcress - congrats and good luck with your boat. The 3607 is one of my all-time favorite Carver models...

You bet! We currently have RSVPd a 50' dock out from Famous Daves on eves of July 22-24. Would have stayed on until Friday (early departure) but have a family reunion back in MI. We should try to meet if you can sneak away midweek. Should have plenty of cold beverages onboard to compliment conversation. Would enjoy seeing your "labor of love" firsthand. Let me know...

Thx - I have accepted I won't be racing my teenagers any more, but it's feeling stronger everyday. This getting older business is catching up with me as I don't bounce like I used to without sustaining bodily damage. Does this mean I have finally "grown up"?

Sorry, I'm new here and couldn't figure out how to find the pictures. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
 
Don, I'm still adjusting to this "getting older" business myself! When I figure it out, I'll let you know...

Got it, thanks. I knew I had seen pics of your boat before... hard to miss the name... I just couldn't remember where.
Seeing the pics of yours gives me something to shoot for. I have a bit of work to do to release the inner beauty of mine. She's been parked on the sales lot beside a highly traveled bridge for over a year and is coated in a thick layer of grime.

I just posted some pics, but I'll get better pics to post soon.
 
I won't scare you with the original shots of mine!!!! On the hard after put away wet for 3.5 years when I picked her up... The admiral cried when she first laid eyes on it, and they were not "tears of joy". I should have named it "SWEAT EQUITY".
 
Here she is when she arrived at the marina for delivery. Notice all of the attached greenery. She was exactly 14' tall on the trailer, and I suspect there are a bunch of trees along the way that now have their lowest limbs at 14'1".
