A friend of mine occasionally works for a boat dealer. This year they asked him to work the show due to an expected
Good year. He thinks a lot of vendors will return that have not been there in years.

I hope so, because it has really gone downhill the past few years

I don't mind paying when show is decent, but last few years you needed to pay me to go.
With parking/train and lunch, it's a $100 day for 2 people to get hassled by some pushy sales people.
Free tickets make it a little more tolerable!

To each his own, I will probably go this year, but last time I went which was 2 years ago, I was not impressed.
Most sales people have a quota of tickets to give away as the foot traffic is more important than the ticket revenue!

I hope you are right, but when housing sales are snot, I doubt it.

FL housing is booming in some spots. Our beachside has minimal inventory. It could be that boomers are finally moving to FL as predicted 10 years ago-something like 17 million plan to do FL.

Stats say Florida growth is very strong. The number of people who move to Florida each day is - 1,000
The new house construction / sales around my area is insane...and used home sales is not bad either. :)

Unless there is something specific you want to by or see it is not worth the effort. The parking is a nightmare and very expensive and with in 45-60 minutes you are done!

We take the ferry so we can get a boat ride in. It's just something we like to do I'm sure we will go again this year.

We do the same thing Dave, we drive out of our way just to pick up a ferry ride. Have not been to the NY show in a few years. Think we will go this year though. I like that its later in January this year.

True.........but its always warm....never snows.......and you can go boating 365 days a year.

My 17 year old daughter got me tickets for Christmas so we can go together again. I look forward to it. We enjoy the boat show and then go out for a nice dinner.
I really missed doing it with her last year. Luckily my health is better this year, and they moved it back a few weeks again.
She'll be going away to College next year, so this will be the last one we get to go to together for a while.

Don
If you ever want to come out on our boat let me know.
We keep it outside of canaveral.
Happy new year
jk

Jeff.....thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that in the future. Right now I'm focused on getting the new place ready for my MIL's arrival next week.
