What? You only cook him a steak and bake a cake for him on his birthday? A truly deprived little guy. He's lucky to have your family as his. Glad he's well and happy and Happy Birthday to him. Just watch out, or I will post the quasi-pornographic shots of you with him on our boat. :)

Mark: Don't blame Rob. He has the inside scoop, but it really was a good follow-up "nudge" attempt. Problem is, I was "nudged" more than Andy. Must be a woman thing. Did I just say that?

To get back to the original topic, the coliseum show was terrible last year and I don't expect it to be much better this year. However, I was talking with Don yesterday and He and I were thinking of going to AC for it. Then I came up with an idea afterwards. Since the Atlantic City Winter Boat Show at the AC Convention Center is in Feb it would be fun if a bunch of us got together and went to that show. We could even take one of the AC casino buses down and then cab over to the show (that would be the real inexpensive way to do it = not bad) or we could all put some funds together and rent a limo or if there are enough of us a limo bus to go down to the show. Think it would be a blast and definitely bring us closer to the springtime!! Any thoughts??

Hi, Guys: Been reading your give and take. Took a while till I understand the background. Sound like a group who really know how to rib and are there for each other when needed. That Moriches cut has caught me more than once, especially at low tide. I keep my boat at Center Yaucht Club and fish Moriches Bay, not too successfully lately. I had to scrap my previous boat and am now refurbishing a 21' SunRunner. Looking forward to getting back on the water this season. Anyway, the show probably seemed dead because there's been almost no publicity. I heard only one commercial for it and saw nothing in the paper about it. I'm planning on going next Wed. just for the fun of it. I like looking at all the new toys, and might buy some equipment for my boat. March isn't that far away anymore. Happy boating. Hy
 
Did they have WEEKDAY show hours last year ?

Or is this something new ?

There's finally an ad in today's Newsday. Guess the advertising budget is pretty small. We'll see what the show's like on Wed. Went to the NY show at the Javet's Center New Year's Day. For second year in a row, shuttle bus from Penn Station wasn't running. Had to walk to center. Seemed to be fewer booths than before and definitely fewer people. Econony sucks which is killing boating. When people can't pay for car gas and heating oil, they're not going to buy a boat or stuff for it. I went to pick up some small stuff and to see all the new stuff. Not a bad show; but not great. Best one I've gone to was the Miami show. Did that a for a few years because we would visit my in-laws at the time (smowbirds). Now they do't snowbird anymore and I'm semi-retired. Travel at other times to other places. Building an outdrive cart today. Be easier then lugging it around. Got plans from iboats forum. Nasty weather today so it's a perfect indoor project. Be safe. Hy
 
Hey Brad,

I was thumbing through the current issue of LI Boating World and noticed an ad for a local yacht club. It indicated that there's another open house coming up this Sunday. Any idea if that is true?

Actually I am no longer the Membership or Dock Chairman. But as Rear Commodore, the Membership, Dock Chairpersons and Fleet Captain fall under my area of management. So I can hang out more and have others do the work….

Seriously, if you want to come and say hi, there is no pressure… Sign the book and ask for me…. Better yet, just drive down to the dock and come to my boat. That’s were I most likely will be. Slip 47 North Dock.
