Haven't been here alot recently due to the stress of looking for a job, but BE is the place I always go to when I have time and need advice, like now! You guys are the best and I thank you for being there!

We have not spent alot of time cruising this summer, just spending relaxing time in the slip due to, well, you know!

brought in from help wanted and my update!
After a longer period of time than I care to remember, I finally landed a part-time job. The good parts: job is local, interesting (admin in general), stable, nice people, great hours, and will provide a little boat gas for what remains of our season here in Portsmouth.

The not so good: no medical insurance provided in a part-time job; which I knew of course, when I accepted the job, but a part-time job is better than no job!

Anyone have any advice on obtaining medical insurance for myself? The captain will be covered at HIS newly acquired job in 60 days. Thankfully, his job is full time with benefits.

It will be prohibitively expensive to pay for any insurance for me through his company and plan.

Any and all advice/suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for being there and let's hope we have a great warm end to our season here in the northeast!

Check out Blue Cross / Blue Shield online. If you keep the coverage low or just for major stuff, the cost is reasonable. Also the quote is free. My son had it when he was between jobs, they paid on time with no problems
