NJ Destinations

I am wondering if anyone has ideas for not-too-far destinations to visit in NJ starting from Forked River. We are going to have a baby and a busy schedule this year, so I can't do any long distance trips, but it might be nice to do an overnight trip within a short distance - maybe 50 miles or less. Any recommended destinations in NJ? Obviously we need a marina with transient slips, and fun stuff to do nearby.

Not sure any of those would justify an overnight, however. Many are just restaurants. I am really looking for a detsination with good family activities. Maybe some of the Toms River festivals would qualify, but I was hoping for a bit more. Any suggestions?
 
Hi We keep our boat in Lanoka Harbour and we do a Trip to Beach Haven for 3 to 5 days , Plenty of things to do and good restaurants . We always get a transient slip at Morrisons marina . Hope this helps , Ed
 
I agree with the LBI- Morrisons suggestion. I usually make that trip at least 2 times per season from brick. It takes me about 2 hours, taking my time, inside. from Forked River, figure an hour- hour 15, taking your time.
