Enjoy reading the forums. I have a problem with my '88 Imperial 23' cuddy cabin (bought this spring) when in a "No Wake" zone. The boat will not go in a straight line. I've tried different trims on the Volvo 290 Duoprop outdrive to no avail. I thought maybe I was oversteering but then I let my son at the helm and it was worse. The trim fin on the outdrive is extremely corroded. I was under the impression that the fin was for torque compensation at speed. Also, I was under the impression that the Duoprop was inherently great in directional stability? There is some play in the outdrive, (approx. 3/4" at the prop cone, pushing the drive back and forth when on the trailer, a Volvo dealer that looked at the play said that was normal) Also, at speed the boat tracks in a straight line or when idling ** 1200-1400 rpms, unfortunately that's about a 8-10" wake.
