Hogan - as the Hudson River is considered part of the Navigable Waters of the United States (not a Sole State waters), wouldn't the approval for a No Wake Zone come from USCG, not State/Local? Private ATONs on the river are requested to and approved by USCG . . ....
Regardless of approval authority, the river is plenty wide there, and I'd be surprised if a no wake zone, if actually approved and established, would extend entirely across the river. Sounds like Dave made a conscious and deliberate effort to minimize the effect of his wake. For a boat club that's been on the river since the early 1900's, they should really spend some of their dues on a decent breakwater. just sayin'.
