As most of you know, I used to own a limousine black car company. Health forced the sale and I had to take some time off. Right now I do consulting work, chauffeur training, and some driving (when I start with a new company).
Uber is really killing the industry big time here on Long Island. If you look in the city, youll see a lot less yellow cabs on the street. The way uber pays is silly, their break down means a driver must work literally around the clock to make a normal living. Well, the industry has rules and regulations for DOT 19A drivers, on the amount of drivers hours per day etc, why doesnt uber? Thats one of the things I implement in whatever company I go to. Towncar drivers, limo drivers, all should have the same regulations.
I dont see Ultimate being around much longer, and if they are, they are going to shrink the size of their fleet. They were the company that had that limo accident out east that killed those young ladies.
US limo is a decent company. They undercut pretty much everyone. They have had some management issues, one was recently fired for sexual harassment, their dispatchers are worked like dogs, and their drivers are sub par. The only thing that is saving them, is that they are finally getting newer cars.
