Non Ethanol Gasoline

Les.... how is that soliciting....when he doesn't mention his business name or phone number ??? What rule has been broken ??

I too have enjoyed reading this topic. We've been on the boat in Florida for the past month. Running on non-ethanol has gained me nearly a knot of speed at my cruising RPM. I was thinking of taking a few cans full home with me for lawn equipment and my 2-stroke outboards but decided to search a little more for sources of "pure gasoline" near my home port of Baltimore. There are a few marinas in Maryland that sell "pure gasoline", but they're hours away. However, using this I found some gas stations that sell it:

One is only a few miles from my house but only sells 94 octane racing fuel. There's another that's about 30 miles away that sells 87, 89, 91 octanes. My owners manual for my boat engines state "minimum octane rating of 86 or higher". When I get home I'll have to see what the price difference is between the race fuel, but I don't see any sort of upper-octane limit in the owners manual. I'll have to do more research I suppose.

My boat holds 72 gallons. On a typical Chesapeake weekend we typically go through less than 20 gallons. I may go to the trouble of running to one of those non-ethanol stations and run my boat on "pure gasoline". Since I'm at a private house I usually buy gas at a road-side station and fill with cans anyway.
 
We just got the boat home to MD from FL with half tanks of non-ethanol. I drove 19 miles into PA from my house to a shop that sells 87, 89 and 91 octane non-ethanol and bought 30 gallons. I'm going to do this from now on. The station is full-service and 87 octane cost me $4.20 gallon while ethanol-based 87 octane in my area is around $3.50/gallon on the highway. Well worth the extra cost and inconvenience in my opinion. The guy who pumped my fuel stated they have quite a few boats that come in via trailer including USCG out of Baltimore! Isn't the federal government wonderful? USCG has to trailer their patrol boats a good 50 miles to buy "real" gasoline because the federally mandated crap-o-hol is just that; crap.
