I have a full size freezer fridge in my 1988 Carver 3227. After awhile I will get a loud vibration noise as if I have build up somewhere. I will shut the door abruptly and it will stop. Then the noise will make its way back!

Before I go taking things apart, has anyone else experienced and f so any pointers.

Thank you in advance.

Ken

Pull it out in the back there are two adjustments that connect to the cooling fins. Had the same problem

i have a 86 3207 with the same fridge. mine works but it doesnt get very cold and seems to run a lot. i would imagine it is low on refrigerant but i do not think their is any way of adding freon. or is there?

I get a loud fridge vibration on my 3227. I just pull on the outlet cover on the sidewall and it stops. Someday I'll take it apart and...

My latches have been broken on my Reefer since I got the boat. Most likely from opening it with it latched. Today I noticed the latches can be flipped over by taking the refer one and using it on the freezer then the freezer one on the refer.Problem solved now I don't have to latch the lower cabin door open to keep the reefer closed. It also keeps a better seal to help eliminate so many defrostings.

I had the same problem on my 3227. We pulled it out and moved (slightly) the two compressors hanging on the back. It still comes back for a few days at the start of each season. On a related issue... has any one researched a good replacement for the whole refer? Sounds like a few of us may be looking soon. Thanks

We went to a frost free 120 volt refrig, installed inverter, house battery. Haier or Summit make several sizes. Worth the effort. Installed snaps on a short nylon strap to hold freezer and refrig doors closed. 12 cu ft. Installed extra vents in back to get rid of the heat.

3000 watt, rule of thumb a/c motor draw times 5 will cover start up. Also frost free has heating coils that cycle. 200 amp hr batts. A little over kill, not to much though, system runs great.
