New Yorkers and others face another tragedy. A Month ago we had the Miracle on the Hudson and now we have a commuter plane that is down in Buffalo. These people were not so fortunate and all on board plus 1 on the ground has been killed. Lets take a moment to say a prayer for the victims and families. Then perhaps give our loved ones a hug, you never know whats going to happen...

Very sad, I would geuss that it was ice on the wings...

Anyone else notice that the wings for that plane seem awfully small for it's size? I guess it wouldn't take much ice to really change the wing dynamics.

I landed 2 hours late last night at LGA. Wind was strong. We were bouncing all over. So if they had strong winds and the ice then that could be it. Planes should have heated wings.

Most jets do. However, turboprops usually have boots or liquid de ice. Do you know how much energy it takes to heat a wing?

With the "wind chill" factor, I'd guess a lot!

Your right Gov "you never know whats going to happen" but I will take your advice and give my loved ones a extra big hug today.
Thoughts and prayers for the familys of the crash.

WOW, I'm impressed, we got GeeBee to post on the HRCC board!!!

We've made it to the big time, boys and girls.

I know a woman pilot that works for Continental that flies that route and that plane.

I hope it wasn't her. I am still trying to find out.

Very sad indeed. With only five miles to the landing strip. You never know when your time is up. Just another reason for me to dislike NY this time of year!

My son goes to the University at Buffalo and lives in a house in Amherst, about 5 miles from the airport. when the first reports started rolling in at about 12:30 AM, I had just gotten home from work. They said the plane hit a house about 5 miles from Buffalo Airport. My blood ran cold, I just felt sick. I texted him right away. Thank God, he was fine and didn't even hear about it yet.

Wow, Donna Prisco flight attendant! That is a scary bit of information. I checked with my Dad, she is not a relation to me. My wife and i will be praying for all of them.

My lab directors daughter lives in the area of the crash. He finally managed to get in touch with her today and she is still in Florida and OK. It was a big relief for him.

It was a woman copilot. She was taking to the tower.

...while on her cell phone and painting her nails...

Mike, you're sick! But I must admit, I'm still laughing. Sick but funny.
